Do you remember a kid jumping in every step of his walk while returning home from school? Or Do you remember the exasperated kid who had air in his cheeks because his dad was watching news? Or a kid who returned doused in mud on rainy evenings? Or a kid getting excited to just ride a train? That was you. And when you still spot a kid doing any of it, your reflex hits you with a faded memory of childhood which was somewhere buried. You stop for a second and wonder how did your life turn into a contrast of good old days? When did you stop getting excited about a new pen? When was the last time you held your mother's hand because you felt lost? And why adulthood was such a dream? You hate that you couldn't savour any of it and now it's just something to grin at. Yes, that was all you and now you can feel your eyes softening and heart warming when you hear the words,
"यह दौलत भी ले लो, यह शौहरत भी ले लो,
भले छीन लो मुझसे मेरी जवानी,
मगर मुझको लौटा दो बचपन का सावन,
वो कागज़ की कश्ती, वो बारिश का पानी।"
